Alice Robinson
This agency has a reputation for bringing the beautiful people together. Director Karen Mooney, who is vice-chairman of the Association of British Introduction Agencies (ABIA), chose the name because it means ‘royal princess in the garden of paradise’. It was an apt choice. Mooney, a blonde fairy godmother with a degree in personnel management, organises operations from her 300-year-old Windsor offices.
She matches up successful and forward-thinking business types, including a host of well-known personalities (although, understandably, she is the soul of discretion when it comes to revealing their names). `I was only in my twenties when I founded the agency,’ she says. ‘My aim was to remove the worry of meeting someone when you don’t have much time to do so.’
