Easter is a time to pause.
Life has been pell mell since New Year, light levels and temperatures have been low and the desire for the new has understandably been lacking. Now the evenings are lighter and with the prospect of a long weekend ahead it’s time to exhale and relax.
Pretty much everyone is at leisure this coming weekend, so if you are alone it’s the ideal time to take yourself out and about – spirits are lifted and people are somehow much more open to the chance conversation. Being a long weekend, you will have time to meet family/friend obligations as well as make time for yourself.
It’s a good opportunity to review your wardrobe if you are looking for a new partner – do your clothes flatter you, do they project the image you aim for? If not, these free days are an opportunity to remedy that.
Taking time to consider your personal patterns of behaviour and whether or not they generate any opportunities to meet new people might be beneficial. Humans are mostly creatures of habit. Where those habits limit exposure to new things it might be time to change a little and include some new places and activities in your calendar..
The weather is mild, so ideal for outdoor activities – can you borrow a dog, supposing you don’t own one? Dog owners are friendly folk, usually happy to stop and chat – a chat is how relationships start…….
Bookshops are excellent places to strike up a conversation. People linger, it’s peaceful and you may find someone who shares an interest of yours. They often have coffee shops these days too.
Speaking of coffee, a spot of people watching from a pavement table is a delightful way to pass the time. I would recommend choosing a busy spot, where you might have to share a table…..
Curb your habitual phone gazing – the people you want to meet are all around you. All you have to do is look up.
Happy Easter!
