If you find you are working so hard that there is too little time for romance in your life, Karen Mooney may have the answer. She is principal of Sara Eden Introductions, a dating agency for the professional and managerial classes. Since it was founded in 1988, the Windsor-based agency has achieved remarkable success in matching up meritocrats — people who are “too successful or too beautiful” to attract a mate. It now has more than 1,800 names on its books and claims that one in seven client introductions results in a lasting relationship.
Mooney says that her success is based on a high-quality service. “Our staff comprise of only the most highly trained personnel who are experienced in interviewing techniques and understand the problems associated with forming and maintaining relationships. “We are also very selective about whom we choose for membership. Only well mannered, socially acceptable, successful people can join Sara Eden. We always screen applicants carefully and I will not hesitate to make further checks if an applicant does not seem all that he or she would like us to believe.” There is one other, rather important, criterion for Sara Eden membership: clients must be “free to form a relationship.”
